Inheritance
Someone close has died.
Inheritance proceedings start automatically and are run by a notary acting for the court. What you decide in the first weeks, such as whether to accept the inheritance and how to agree with the other heirs, is hard to change later.
What needs to be settled
- Accept or disclaim: the time to disclaim an inheritance is short, so it pays to decide before the hearing with the notary
- Debts: in Slovakia an heir answers for the deceased's debts up to the value of what they inherit; in the Czech Republic, without a reservation of inventory, beyond it
- Agreement between heirs: who receives which asset and how the others are compensated
- Property and company shares: what has to be done after the estate is settled
What we do
- We map the deceased's assets and debts
- We explain your options and deadlines before the first meeting with the notary
- We represent you before the notary and draft the agreement between heirs
- After the estate is settled we transfer property and company shares
Price: A fee under the statutory tariff based on the value of the estate, or hourly with a cap. You receive the proposal in writing after the first consultation. What it costs →
